Wissey First Production

First gas was produced from the Wissey field on 22 August 2008. Operator Tullow delivered the project very successfully - on time and with only minor weather-related cost growth. The naturally fractured Plattendolomite field has been developed with a single vertical production well which tested at 67 mmscfd after acidisation. At producing conditions the well is expected to be capable of 80 mmscfd. The well is tied back to the Horne and Wren platform via a 10km 8” pipeline. Only minor metering related modifications were required at Horne and Wren. From Horne and Wren the gas is forwarded to Thames and on to the sales point at Bacton. Reserves are expected to be 5.7 bscf net to First Oil. (August 2008)
